She has been active mainly since the late 1980s and is recognized as one of the early German violinists to specialize in contemporary folk styles. 🧒 Early Life & Education Born in Göttingen, Germany in 1966. In the 1980s she lived in Los Angeles, California , where she studied bluegrass and Cajun music at Hollywood’s Westlake College of Music . Her first band experience came with her violin teacher Joe Miklich’s group The Phiddleharmonics . Upon returning to Germany in 1986 , she studied psychology at the University of Mainz .
